Ayoroa Simmons Federal Capabilities Statement

Ayoroa Simmons was selected to perform a combined site and building survey of the War Memorial Building and Legislative Plaza in Nashville, Tennessee. The project was overseen by the Tennessee Department of General Services, State of Tennessee Real Estate Asset Management. Our contract was with Centric Architecture, Nashville, Tennessee. We established site control using GPS, Leica Nova TS60 .5” Total Station and Leica LS15 (.3mm) Digital Level. Our field team collected more than six billion observations using Leica Scan Station P40 Terrestrial Laser Scanner (TLS), (2) RTC360 TLS, and NavVis VLX SLAM based scanner. This was the first time that a survey of this magnitude was performed on this facility. Our architectural services team developed detailed, comprehensive 3D Revit models of the site and building. Our surveying and mapping team produced topographic, subsurface utilities and boundary survey drawings. Centric Architecture has invited us to provide similar services for a second phase of a related project. They are a repeat client on various other projects of a similar nature.

University of Kentucky Capital Project Management Division, Lexington, KY, selected Ayoroa Simmons to provide Building Information Modeling services for the Jacobs Science Building Improvements Project. The project consisted of a fit-up to a three-story building with a fourth-story mechanical penthouse addition. A fast track approach was needed to accelerate the delivery of the fit-up in advance of the fall semester. Ayoroa Simmons implemented 3D Laser Scanning to produce a High-Definition 3D Survey of existing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, structural, and architectural systems to validate the accuracy of the record drawings that would become the basis of the construction drawings. Our team was then contracted by the University to review the design information including MEP, structural, architectural and specialty equipment and identify conflicts and constructability issues using 3D Models in Revit and Navisworks. Our reports were reviewed by the CM and design consultants and used to update the bid documents through addenda in advance of award of the construction contract. Ayoroa Simmons has completed more than 25 projects for the University of Kentucky involving 3D Laser Scanning, Surveying and BIM Coordination.

Brookside Properties, Inc. of Nashville, TN is a nationwide commercial and multi-family developer. They selected Ayoroa Simmons to design the rehabilitation requirements to restore a twelve unit, two story multifamily building in Chattanooga, TN that was damaged by fire. Our scope included 3D Laser Scanning of the damaged units, boundary survey, subsurface utilities survey, code research, architectural design, procurement of design subconsultants (Structural, MEP and FP) and value engineering with the owner’s GC. We have completed more than 20 projects for Brookside Properties, including as-built surveys, measured drawings, and architectural design services in various states throughout the eastern U.S.
